Portrait Session FAQ
I’ve booked my session, now what?
If you’ve spoken with Brandy and paid your session fee, your session is now on the calendar. However, your session is not considered “booked” until your contract has been signed and returned. Please take the time to read through the rest of the FAQ’s to find out what to expect at your session. Once this has been done, and we’ve received it, you’re session is now booked.
What happens if I can’t make my shoot?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way – work keeps you late, or your kids are sick. If for some reason you can’t make your scheduled session we will be happy to reschedule you with at least 48 hours notice, at no additional fee, up to one time based on photographer’s availability. If you must reschedule more than once, there is a $50 rescheduling fee. Please note that your session fee is non-refundable
What happens if the weather is bad?
In most cases, we can remedy the situation by changing locations. In the event of rain, we’re happy to reschedule you to another day as long as we have the availability. If for some reason no open slots are available a refund will be issued.
What’s your style?
In each session I blend a traditional and contemporary style into my images. Often families who wanted traditional poses for their family portrait end up loving a more candid shot of their kids. Similarly, families that like a more candid photo are often happy to also have a more traditional “posed” family shot in addition to images that capture their child’s spirit.
Do we need to give you a deposit?
Each session requires a non-refundable session fee to be paid at the time of booking. This session fee secures your date and covers the time and talent of the photographer. Session may be rescheduled up to one time, with at least 48 hours notice, without incurring any fees (this does not include rescheduling for bad weather).
Where should we take our pictures?
Pictures of children are great at parks. Not only do the kids get to have fun, but we are able to capture them being themselves. Family portraits are excellent at the lake, parks, or even your house. The idea is for you to be comfortable, so if you have a spot that is ‘perfect’ for you or your family, let me know!
We don’t want to/can’t travel. Will you come to us?
Absolutely. I don’t mind traveling; my main goal is to make sure you have a family portrait that you are thrilled with. I’m also happy to consult with you a location that will fit your needs.
Do you have a travel fee?
There is a $40 travel fee for locations outside a 15 mile radius of zip code 77354.
What should we wear for our family portraits?
Anything goes! While families don’t have to match, and bright/colorful clothing is a welcome change, keep in mind that your clothing should still compliment each other. Stick to a similar theme, like brown/blue/white and let each family member dress in a variation of that. Be sure to check out my ‘What To Wear’ section on the Blog!
How and when will we see our photos?
Within two weeks after your session you will receive an e-mail letting you know that your gallery is active and available for viewing on our website. You’ll be given a password at your session that will gain you access for your gallery. You are welcome to share this password with family and friends.
How long are our photos online?
Your photos will remain online in your gallery for 7 days from the date they are posted. You may place as many orders as you’d like, via your gallery. Your gallery will expire automatically after 7 days. We’re happy to re-post your gallery for a $15/week.
Do you sell Digital Files?
Digital Negatives are available for purchase. Each file is $50 if purchased in addition to any package. If purchased A La Carte, each file is $75 and there is a minimum purchase of 3 files. Digital Negatives may be purchased at anytime, and includes a print release for personal, non-commercial use.
